Best Restaurant AEPEV 2024 to Ambivium
The Spanish Association of Wine Journalists and Writers celebrated the excellence of the wine sector at its 2024 Grand Wine Communication Dinner, held this year at the La María de José Luis restaurant in the Spanish capital, Madrid.
During the event, hosted by Meritxell Falgueras, a journalist and member of the AEPEV, various awards were presented to recognise the industry’s leading figures.
The AEPEV’s wine and gastronomy committee selected Ambivium as Best Restaurant AEPEV for “its unique approach to pairings between haute cuisine and wine”. This new accolade reinforces our commitment to creating unique experiences centred on wine. A concept we were founded on and through which we continue to enhance the appreciation of wine via the pairings we offer with our Cellarium tasting menu.

María Isabel Mijares was named Person of the Year 2024 at an emotional ceremony where her brothers, José Antonio and Fernando, accepted the award on her behalf, accompanied by a message sent by her daughter, Isabel Vérine. Other award winners included Javier Pérez de Andrés, recognised as Best Wine Journalist for his informative work, and María Luisa Martín Tejera, awarded Best Wine Writer for her ability to link tradition and sustainability. The sommelier Custodio López Zamarra was honoured as Master of Wine, whilst the award in the Wine Tourism category went to Rutas del Vino de España for its innovative promotion of wine tourism. We congratulate all the winners and join in paying tribute to Isabel Mijares, Founder and Honorary President of the AEPEV.

We would like to thank the entire team of people who have made this recognition possible, for it is they who embody the enthusiasm and strength of the project. They bring to life the philosophy and values of Alma Carraovejas: honesty, consistency, authenticity, attention to detail, an innovative spirit, passion and integrity; for this is how we put our heart and soul into everything we do.
